‘Insecure’ Alums Debut Trailer and Premiere New Show 'Send Help'

A new AllBlk original series, 'Send Help' follows a young first-generation Haitian American struggling to overcome the challenges in Hollywood, while coming to terms with a recent family tragedy. As he navigates challenges and relationship woes, each triumph is more powerful than the last.

Mike Gauyo, best known for his writing roles in HBO’s hit series Insecure and Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia, is one of Hollywood’s top emerging creatives. As CEO and Founder of the Black Boy Writes Media banner, Mike is breaking down barriers to authentic, inclusive, and responsible storytelling for and by underrepresented creatives in an industry where only 22% of screen credits went to minorities and 57% of queer creators have reported ongoing micro-aggressions.

Jean Elie is best known for playing Ahmal Dee, Issa Rae’s brother on the critically acclaimed HBO series Insecure. He founded BASSETT HOUSE PICTURES with the goal of building a community of emerging content creators and providing a platform that will highlight meaningful storytelling focused on underrepresented groups.

Send Help, starring Elie, Catfish Jean, Courtney Taylor, Amin Joseph, Karina Bonnefil, Karen Obilom, Kimiko Singer (Emily the Criminal), and Ana Bowen, premiered Thursday, Aug. 11 on ALLBLK.
