First Black Owned 'Live Alkaline Water' Company Hits Walmart's Shelves

For the first time in history, a black owned alkaline water company is on the shelves in Walmart stores. The company was founded by Dr. Shayla Creer and Robert McCray whose family owned the North Carolina spring for more over 100 years. Many of the Walmart stores they reached out to declined their request to get their products in store until one finally gave them an opportunity. Demand for the water increased once their product sold out in the first month. They began to scale and expand to three other Walmart stores.

“I called… many Walmarts, and finally we got a hold of one who allowed us to do a presentation,” Dr. Creer told First Coast News.
